Parson Tom's Spiritual PDF Books
Many of the Books that I will have available here are
Apocryphal or come from the Nag Hammadi and some would argue
because these writings are not contained in the Bible then
they are of no value, I disagree. I welcome and thirst for
any text that has to do with God the Father and Jesus Christ
our Lord and Savior.
NIV Acts 28:26 “ ‘Go to this people and say, “You will be
ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever
seeing but never perceiving.”
27 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly
hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their
ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would
heal them.’
NIV Revelation 21:6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the
Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the
thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of
the water of life.
There is much knowledge contained in these books and so much
of it can be such a blessing and I pray that you will be
blessed by any of these books that I share with you. Parson

The Book of Common Prayer is the short title of a number of
related prayer books used in the Anglican Communion, as well
as by the Continuing Anglican, "Anglican realignment" and
other Anglican churches. The original book, published in
1549 (Church of England 1957), in the reign of Edward VI,
was a product of the English Reformation following the break
with Rome. Prayer books, unlike books of prayers, contain
the words of structured (or liturgical) services of worship.

The Gospel of Mary is an apocryphal book discovered in 1896

The Gospel of Mary isn't long and can be read in a short
time and I really enjoy its contents. I am saddened deeply
that the whole text hasn't been discovered yet. |
The Gospel According to Thomas, commonly shortened to the
Gospel of Thomas, is a well preserved early Christian,
non-canonical sayings-gospel. It was discovered near Nag
Hammadi, Egypt, in December 1945, in one of a group of books
known as the Nag Hammadi library. You will need Adobe Reader

I like to every now and then just open up the Gospel of
Thomas and take in the Sayings of Jesus that is contained in
this book. |
One of several apocryphal texts by this name. This in
particular is an 1887 edition of the Hebrew text Sefer
haYashar The publisher of the book claims it the lost Book
of Jasher refered to the book of Samuel although the book
never makes the claim itself. The author is unknown although
it is assumed by academics that the author was an Orthodox
Jew based off the fact that the work shows influence from
the Talmud, Rashi's commentary, Pirke de Rabbi Eliezer; the
Yalkut; the Chronicle of Moses; Yosippon; Midrash Abkir and
also the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). You will need Adobe Reader

I have just myself recently downloaded this book. What
little I have read so far I like. The Book of Jasher is
mentioned twice in the Old Testament:
Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed,
until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies.
Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood
still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down
about a whole day.
2 Samuel 1:18 (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah
the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of
Jasher.)
The
Book of Jasher by Ken Johnson Book Description:
Publication
Date: August 28, 2008 Information from Amazon.com where you
can purchase this book for a very good price.
There are 13 ancient history books that are mentioned and
recommended by the Bible. The Ancient Book of Jasher is the
only one of the 13 that still exists. It is referenced in
Joshua 10:13; 2 Samuel 1:18; and 2 Timothy 3:8. This volume
contains the entire 91 chapters plus a detailed analysis of
the supposed discrepancies, cross-referenced historical
accounts, and detailed charts for ease of use. As with any
history book there are typographical errors in the text but
with three consecutive timelines running though the
histories it is very easy to arrive at the exact dates of
recorded events. It is not surprising that this ancient
document confirms the Scripture and the chronology given in
the Hebrew version of the Old Testament, once and for all
settling the chronology differences between the Hebrew Old
Testament and the Greek Septuagint. The Ancient book of
Jasher is brought to you by Biblefacts Ministries,

The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work,
traditionally ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of
Noah. It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews,
apart from Beta Israel. It is regarded as canonical by the
Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Eritrean Orthodox Church, but
no other Christian group. You will need Adobe Reader if you

It has been some time since I have read the Book of Enoch. I
downloaded it for some research I was doing for one of my
sermons on visions and dreams.

Albert Einstein's religious views have been studied due to
his sometimes apparently ambiguous statements and writings
on the subject. He believed in the god of Baruch Spinoza,
but not in a personal god, a belief he criticized. He also
called himself an agnostic, and criticized atheism,
preferring he said "an attitude of humility." You will need
Adobe Reader if you don't already have it you can download

I have always held a high respect for Albert Einstein and
readily read anything I can about him. This book I would say
would be a Must Read on how this scientist thought about
Religion and Science.

The Sophia of Jesus Christ is one of many Gnostic tractates
from the Nag Hammadi codices, discovered in Egypt in 1945.
The title is somewhat coded, since although Sophia is Greek
for wisdom, in a gnostic context, Sophia is the syzygy of
Christ. You will need Adobe Reader if you don't already have

Thomas à Kempis (Thomas van Kempen or Thomas Hemerken or
Haemerken, litt. "small hammer"); (c. 1380 - 25 July 1471)
was a late Medieval Catholic monk and the probable author of
The Imitation of Christ, which is one of the best known
Christian books on devotion. You will need Adobe Reader if

Thomas à Kempis has an excellent insight on what Jesus
Christ tries to teach each and every one of us. Find 'The
Imitation of Christ' authored by him, it is very
inspirational, I have read it more than once.

The First Book of Adam and Eve Prologue The First Book of
Adam and Eve details the life and times of Adam and Eve
after they were expelled from the garden to the time that
Cain kills his brother Abel. It tells ofAdam and Eve's first
dwelling the Cave of Treasures; their trials and
temptations; Satan's many apparitions to them; the birth of
Cain, Abel, and their twin sisters;

One critic has said of this writing: "This is we believe,
the greatest literary discovery that the world has known."
Its effect upon contemporary thought in molding the judgment
of the future generations is of incalculable value. In
general, this account begins where the Genesis story of Adam
and Eve leaves off. |
While some scholars date this book’s authorship to several
centuries B.C., because of its contents and nature it is
believed that it was passed down via oral tradition from
Adam to others until finally someone wrote it down. The
earliest scribe would have been Enoch, but it could have
been another.
